Overview
The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that is integral to delivering TD’s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to the achievement of business objectives that enable growth through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help Customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD. Personal & Commercial Banking Responsibilities
Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to identify opportunities to educate on Bank products and services to Customers and/or refer them to appropriate team member or internal Bank partners, while ensuring a positive Customer experience Requires broad knowledge of the full product suite, services and processes of the business area, with low to moderate complexity/risk Establishes and nurtures Customer relationships by displaying product knowledge, actively listening to Customer needs and offering solutions or partner referrals Makes product recommendations based on Customer needs and highlights product features and benefits that support Customers through life events, save time and money, and exceed needs Utilizes Customer relationship management tools to identify Customer solutions and lead-focused outbound sales activities Independently resolves customer issues and escalates when necessary Builds working relationships with customers and explains detailed information Participates in Customer outreach, servicing and advice activities to deliver on our unexpectedly human promise Engages in conversations about loan products and facilitates application intake Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry) Education & Experience
HS Diploma or GED 1+ years\' experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, military experience preferred Teller experience preferred Must be able to complete teller training upon hire to take customer transactions Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations while educating on products and services Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills with ability to be concise, clear and consistent Ability to schedule and prioritize work Ability to work independently and within deadlines Sound judgment in decision making and effective problem solving Proficient in Microsoft Office Notary License (Preferred) Customer Accountabilities
Delivers Legendary experience by helping customers, building relationships, and delivering service and advice Supports the Bank\'s Customer Service Strategy and delivers end-to-end advisory support with educational content, proactive insights and recommendations Acts as a Customer advocate and provides proactive tips to save time and money Executes appropriate behaviors to deliver a Legendary Customer experience in-store Manages lobby flow, identifies initial needs and guides customers appropriately Educates customers on self-service options and digital channels May act as a point of escalation for Customer questions May perform teller transactions while monitoring for fraud and adhering to policies Contributes to TD\'s risk framework and protects customer wellbeing Represents TD as a brand ambassador Engages with customers to turn transactions into personalized interactions Shareholder Accountabilities
Ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) Participates in daily operations to align with TD\'s risk framework Applies operating policies and completes business processes accurately and timely Escalates non-standard or high-risk transactions as necessary Maintains documentation that reflects client/business intentions and regulatory requirements Performs due diligence to support accuracy of transactions Complies with Bank Code of Conduct Contributes to Operational Excellence and adheres to risk controls Employee/Team Accountabilities
