Personal & Commercial Banking Job Description:
The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that is integral to delivering TD\u2019s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to the achievement of business objectives that enable growth through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help Customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.
Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to identify opportunities to educate on Bank products and services, refer customers to appropriate team member or internal Bank partners, while ensuring a positive Customer experience.
Broad knowledge of the full product suite, services and processes of the business area; low to moderate complexity/risk.
Establishes and nurtures Customer relationships through product knowledge and active listening to identify needs and offer solutions or referrals.
Makes product recommendations based on Customer needs, highlighting features and benefits to support Customers through life events, save time and money, and exceed needs.
Uses Customer relationship management tools to proactively identify solutions and lead-focused outbound sales activities.
Independently resolves customer issues and errors, escalating when necessary.
Builds working relationships with customers and communicates detailed information clearly.
Performs a range of activities with full proficiency gained through job-related training.
Participates in Customer outreach, servicing and advice activities to deliver a customer-centric experience.
Engages in conversations about loan products and facilitates the application intake.
Maintains an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
Education & Experience:
HS Diploma or GED
1+ year(s) experience working with customers or sales in any capacity; or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience
Teller experience preferred
Must complete teller training upon hire to handle customer transactions
Ability to engage customers, educate on products/services, and communicate clearly
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills; ability to be concise, clear and consistent
Ability to schedule and prioritize work; work independently and within deadlines
Sound judgment and effective problem solving
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Notary License (Preferred)
Customer Accountabilities:
Delivers Legendary customer experience by helping customers, building relationships, and providing service and advice
Supports the Bank\u2019s Customer Service Strategy: educational content, consultative support, and proactive insights
Advocates for customers with proactive tips and recommendations to save time and money
Orchestrates customer flow and guides customers to appropriate self-service options
May perform teller transactions while monitoring fraud mitigation and adhering to policies
Acts as a brand ambassador and maintains customer trust and satisfaction
Shareholder Accountabilities:
Ensures compliance with guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act)
Supports TD\u2019s risk framework and accurate documentation; escalates non-standard or high-risk transactions
Adheres to risk and control policies/procedures; supports operational excellence
