eCommerce DevOps Engineer

The ideal candidate has a team player mindset and a solid background in software engineering and operations best practices for enterprise eCommerce websites powered by Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). Experience monitoring eCommerce website ecosystem health, identifying and troubleshooting production issues, deploying code enhancements or bug fixes, and supporting new product implementations is required. Carter’s is the largest North American apparel retailer exclusively for babies and young children, encompassing Carter’s, OshKosh B’gosh, Skip-Hop and Little Planet brands. eCommerce Platform Operations (60%):
Technical Support: Perform bug fixes, code updates, optimizations, and platform configurations for SFCC environments. Incident and Problem Management: Lead troubleshooting efforts for production issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to identify and resolve problems promptly. Site Reliability: Execute daily operational routines to maintain site performance, security, and reliability. Integration Management: Develop and maintain integrations between SFCC and backend systems or third-party solutions using APIs (OCAPI/SCAPI).
Monitoring and Observability (20%):
Automation: Build automated tools for monitoring, scaling, and synchronization of SFCC environments. Website Optimization: Work with vendors (e.g., AWS, Cloudflare) to enhance CDN functionality and improve website performance for global users. Observability: Design and manage monitoring systems using tools like Adobe Analytics, Salesforce Reports, and Splunk for proactive issue detection.
Disaster Recovery and Risk Mitigation (20%):
Scalability and Resilience: Create disaster recovery plans and perform resilience testing during peak traffic periods. Cybersecurity Partnership: Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure PCI-DSS compliance. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely resolution of critical incidents and minimal customer impact.
Must Have
1-3 years of experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) platform. 1-3 years of experience in enterprise eCommerce Website development and operations. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or Engineering. Ability to articulate complex solutions to Senior Managers and above. Demonstrated strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented and produces high quality work under demanding circumstances. Flexible to new situations and challenges. Go-Getter willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful. Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. Preferred Skills and Experience
Proficiency in platforms used for Build, Testing, Continuous Integration / Delivery, and monitoring, preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a technology or business-related area, or equivalent work experience. Our Team Values
