Position Overview
We are currently seeking a hard-working individual with great interpersonal skills for a
Senior Interior Designer
position interested in joining our team to work exclusively on
aviation projects.
The candidate must have experience with all aspects of the design process collaborating with architecture, engineering, and technical leadership as a project leader. The candidate must also have experience working with clients, managing projects, attending meetings, and presenting design solutions in a clear and concise manner. The position requires a motivated, self-driven individual capable of leading a project independently and available to travel up to 10% of time. General Responsibilities
Responsible for developing a close and exclusive relationship with the aviation client. Develop and implement design standards including expertise in selecting appropriate FF&E, finishes, and other design elements in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Coordinate and collaborate with the client to develop and coordinate conceptual designs for use in corporate review and approval. Participate in client meetings and presentations with confidence to develop project goals into design solutions while considering building codes, corporate standards, client’s budget, etc. Responsible for quality and competence of the documents produced under his/her direction. Manage time and workload effectively, prioritizing work based on leadership guidance, and balancing concurrent projects going on at the same time. Develop and lead space planning, programming and utilization calculations for client spaces. Manage and coordinate with other team members, including contractors, architects and engineers to complete projects. Open, review, and understand architectural plans from third party architects and engineers. Provide subject matter expertise regarding design for new or evolving initiatives. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of building codes, ANSI/ADA, and BOMA Standards and the permitting process. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture NCIDQ certification preferred 8+ years project design experience (aviation experience not required) Technical proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Design and Rendering/Modeling programs such as Enscape or Sketchup. Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) Knowledge of applicable design codes including ADA Ability to review drawings with confidence, ensuring accuracy and completeness Great interpersonal and presentation skills Effective communication and organization skills Required to work mostly in person at downtown Chicago offices Ability to travel up to 10% This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to join a strong, successful and highly respected team.
