Overview

Senior Forensic Structural Engineer, P.E. role at EFI Global. The position involves investigating events, systems, devices and/or failures and providing expert opinions, with leadership in complex engineering assignments. The role supports profitability through engineering consulting services and requires site visits with remote work from a home-based office. Responsibilities

Determine origin, cause and extent of structural failures related to roof damage, water intrusion, post-fire damage, storm damage, structural integrity evaluations, collapse, building system failures, foundation/settlement, product liability and construction defects. Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings. Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage from recent acute events. Investigate and assess damages due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support. Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures. Collaborate with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining cause and origin of losses and damages. Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions. Document and maintain billable hours for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients. Qualifications

Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Professional Engineering (PE) license; minimum required for resident state. Multi-state licensing and/or active NCEES Record preferred. Must hold a PE license in the resident state. Preference for licenses in other states. Experience with expert witness testimony is a plus. Preferred candidate resides in or around Atlanta, Columbus, Marietta, Duluth, Macon, Peachtree City, Statesboro, or Alpharetta. The role requires site visits and remote work from a home base office.
