Overview Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is seeking a new Director of Finance to join their team. The Director of Finance leads the finance and accounting team for the Federation, the Atlanta Jewish Foundation, and a Community Health and Welfare Trust. This role is responsible for developing a cohesive, high-performance team that provides stellar service to internal and external customers. The position ensures strong fiscal oversight (management, compliance, safeguards) and financial storytelling to support strategic business decision making across the organization.
Compensation and Benefits This position offers a base salary range of $165,000 – $185,000 per year, plus a robust benefits package including medical, vision and dental benefits, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan, paid time off, paid holidays, and more. The pay range is provided by People Solutions Center; actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
Requirements for the Director of Finance
Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Business Administration or CPA required
Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting operations and financial reporting in a complex organization
Experience owning the quality and content of all financial data, reporting, tax oversight, and audit coordination for a division or significant program area
Experience leading, coaching and managing a team of accounting professionals, including experience leading other leaders
Public accounting, nonprofit accounting, and grants management strongly preferred
Knowledge of accounting and reporting software including Abila MIP and Salesforce a plus
Responsibilities
Execute short-term and long-term strategic plans to meet the organization’s objectives
Build a strategy to ensure a positive work environment and a culture of engagement and growth for all team members
Coach and develop the Finance team to achieve goals
Ensure accurate financial records for multiple entities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Ensure regulatory compliance and perform enterprise-level tax preparation
Provide leadership to ensure department operations are lean, efficient, effective, and systematic
Demonstrate accountability for finance team results
Other duties as assigned
