Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
Lead financial planning, reporting, and risk management Present financials to Board of Trustees and executive leadership Oversee budgeting, cash flow, and investment performance Manage relationships with OCIO and banking partners
Compliance & Audit Oversight
Ensure multi-state regulatory compliance Lead federal and financial audits (e.g., 2.CFR.200) Oversee tax filings and government reporting
HR & IT Oversight
Lead HR strategy, talent acquisition, and benefits negotiation Oversee compensation, performance management, and succession planning Manage IT strategy, vendor relationships, and cybersecurity
Organizational Leadership
Serve as strategic partner to CEO and COO Supervise finance and HR teams Support fundraising and change management initiatives
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business (Accounting emphasis) 8+ years senior finance leadership in nonprofit sector CPA or CMA strongly preferred Deep knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit finance, HR operations, and compliance Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with MIP Fund Accounting or Sage is a plus Commitment to equity in education Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Abila/MIP Fund Accounting software Seniority level
