Birch Family Services . Description The Senior Curriculum Coordinator assists the Principal in the educational leadership and administration of the school. Along with the Principal, s/he is responsible for the health and safety of the children, families, and staff, regulatory compliance, fiscal management, and ensuring that the learning environment meets and exceeds Birch Services standards. As directed by the Principal, s/he communicates with students, staff, families, Birch Administrative Office staff, the New York State Education Department, the New York City Department of Education, and other agencies. She assumes responsibility for facilities management, curriculum development, program evaluation and design, financial and personnel management, and emergency procedures. Essential Functions Establish and promote high standards for students and staff. Facilitate, evaluate, and supervise school operations in line with the school's philosophy and standards. Assist in school planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and activities. Ensure curriculum and instructional approaches align with NYSED and Birch Core Curricula. Develop and implement administrative tools like master calendars and communication systems. Work with staff to address students' needs, interests, and developmental levels. Ensure staff compliance with regulations and contractual obligations. Ensure programming meets NYS Learning Standards and assessment mandates. Implement policies to meet student needs and IEP mandates, suggesting improvements. Maintain communication with families and staff. Address emergencies and health and safety issues. Supervise staff to ensure responsibilities are met. Qualifications Education:

Master’s Degree in Education & NYS certification in Special Education Experience:

Prior preschool and/or school-age teaching experience; 3-5 years of administrative experience; SAS/SBL or SDA certification required. Additional details:
