Overview
Deposit Ops Specialist II supports branch deposit operations across Deposit Support, Deposit Service, Branch Advisory, and Payment Support functions with timely and proficient execution under minimal supervision. Responsibilities include processing centralized deposit operations, inquiries handling, system support, and regulatory/compliance awareness.
Responsibilities
Deposit Support: Process centralized functions to support branch deposit operations, including daily reconciliation of accounts related to correspondent banks, cash inventory orders and shipments to FRB, check adjustments, and ATM & Debit Card Settlements. Reconcile bank-use demand deposit activities and other bank-use accounts (e.g., cashier’s checks, CD interest checks). Review dormant/controlled deposit accounts, file abandoned property escheatment, and handle annual tax reporting, monthly/quarterly mandated reporting, and remittances of IOLTA or bankruptcy accounts. Monitor overdraft activities on sensitive accounts and excessive transactions subject to Reg D. Prepare bank-level G/L Certification for deposit-related GL accounts.
Deposit Service: Handle inquiries for deposit-related products and services, process customer account change requests, and review sensitive deposit account changes through AEM. Manage documentation for deposit accounts from branches and deposit servicing departments. Centralized deposit services for brokered or state deposits, IRA administrations, and verification of deposit requests. Review branch certification packages for financial reporting.
Branch Advisory: Provide 1st level support for deposit processing system end-users. Develop training materials for deposit operations applications and procedure changes, coordinating with HR T&D for timely delivery.
Payment Support - Item Processing/EFT: Handle exception processing of checks, ACH, and Debit Card transactions. Perform Debit Card maintenances, Regulation E error dispute claims, Special ACH Returns, incoming chargebacks, and End-of-Day processing for Exception Items (EIM). Daily reconciliation of EIM ending balances, balancing of related accounts and journal entries, large-item verification, rejected/non-posts, and monitoring for fraudulent checks. Conduct customer account adjustments related to in-clearing and clearing transactions, stop payment reviews, and daily balancing.
Compliance and Security
Report suspicious or unusual activities to supervisor or manager for review.
Maintain awareness in areas of regulatory compliance including BSA, loss prevention, information and physical security, and adherence to Bank policies.
Comply with the Bank’s security program, including but not limited to End-User Computing policies, and staying current on industry trends to safeguard against data leaks, identity theft, fraud, and security threats.

Required: Good written and oral communication skills.
Required: Ability to understand and apply a variety of technical instructions.
Preferred: Basic knowledge of deposit operations regulations and banking practices (branch operations, etc.).

Salary: $19.00 Hourly - $22.00 Hourly + bonus + benefits. Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
