Director of Operations , you will be responsible for the
overall performance, profitability, and culture
of our Ohio manufacturing facility. You’ll oversee multiple departments including Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, ensuring they operate in harmony to achieve ambitious safety, quality, and delivery goals. This is a
strategic and hands-on
leadership role requiring a mix of factory-floor engagement and executive-level decision-making. You’ll drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, optimize end-to-end processes, and play a key role in preparing the business for continued expansion across North America. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Oversee all daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, customer commitments, and safety standards are met. Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives. Manage cross-departmental collaboration between Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and information. Establish and monitor KPIs for productivity, OEE, downtime, scrap rate, and cost per unit. Lead weekly performance reviews and monthly strategic planning sessions. Continuous Improvement & Lean Transformation: Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices across all levels of the organization. Identify waste, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks; develop and execute improvement projects with measurable ROI. Drive a data-led approach to decision making through dashboards, Gemba walks, and process mapping. Partner with Engineering on automation, line balancing, and capacity expansion projects. Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with
food-grade packaging standards
including
GMP, ISO 9001, BRC , and relevant FDA requirements. Strengthen Quality Management Systems (QMS) and preventive maintenance programs to reduce defects and downtime. Lead safety culture initiatives to achieve a zero-incident workplace and full OSHA compliance. Financial Management: Own the plant P&L, operating budget, and CAPEX planning. Analyze variances, labor efficiency, and cost drivers to ensure profitability. Support corporate leadership in forecasting, financial modeling, and capacity planning. People & Culture: Lead, coach, and develop department heads, supervisors, and frontline teams. Build a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous learning. Partner with HR on workforce planning, retention, and leadership development. Ensure communication flow from leadership to shop floor is transparent and consistent. Supply Chain & Customer Alignment: Oversee procurement, inventory control, and logistics to ensure raw material availability and on-time delivery. Collaborate with key food and beverage customers to align production with demand forecasts. Lead cross-functional teams on NPI (new product introduction) projects and customer audits. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Industrial Technology 10+ years of progressive experience in
manufacturing operations , including 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Plant Manager, Director, or Ops Executive). Background in
packaging, plastics, food/beverage manufacturing, or high-volume consumer goods . Proven record of leading Lean transformations, automation upgrades, and throughput improvement initiatives. Deep understanding of
safety, quality, and compliance frameworks
(GMP, ISO, BRC, OSHA). Strong leadership, communication, and organizational development skills. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and capital projects. Compensation & Benefits: Base Salary:
