Providing rolling stock project management and technical expertise to external and internal clients Overseeing the management of overhaul and new procurement projects Monitoring project progress and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to resolve critical technical issues Overseeing contract budgets Strategic consulting and planning for rail fleet expansion, upgrades/overhauls, and new car procurement Monitoring innovative technologies Maintaining and building client relationships to grow the business Providing strategic advice for vehicle procurement and performance improvement projects Authoring research studies and briefings Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure rolling stock integration is addressed Candidate Specification
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent preferred 10-15 years minimum experience as a senior rolling stock manager/engineer Experience with rail vehicle procurement, specification development, general engineering, design reviews, systems integration, and management of engineering task-oriented programs Testing and commissioning, quality assurance, maintenance, overhaul, and operational experience is a benefit Experience with various rail modes, vehicle types, and suppliers Excellent communication skills with experience in: client representation contract budgets project management procurement design review asset management systems integration producing technical specifications and report writing knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to rail vehicles writing skills to author research studies and briefings developing proposals to provide engineering services and technical support Ability to work autonomously and in a team Ability to operate in a dynamic environment with multiple disciplines Our teams are comprised of bright and enthusiastic people who wish to make a difference. We provide a comprehensive benefit package including 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave, and company-paid life insurance. The expected salary for this position is $185,000 - $227,000. Individual pay is determined based on location, education, experience, and skills. Equal opportunity is the law.
