Overview
Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance – Mississippi Valley State University. Directs, coordinates, implements, facilitates, oversees and evaluates all facets of the Institution’s effort to comply with NCAA, SWAC and Mississippi Valley State University rules and regulations to maintain institutional control of the athletics program.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of the Compliance Office.
Data reporting of compliance activity by staff; update NCAA records; review and monitor the departmental budget.
Assist with training of staff on current software systems and compliance training/workshops.
Counsel student-athletes on requirements for personal conduct, academic performance and athletic participation, including good sportsmanship.
Adapt to and support a changing work environment; work extended days and weekends; travel as required; operate an automobile with a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
Travel by air or ground transportation; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, NCAA Compliance Assistant, NCAA Eligibility Center, email, internet, fax and calculator.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 3 years of NCAA Compliance related duties or a combination of work study, internships, etc. Athletic background (high school or collegiate).
Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, coaching staff, administration, university personnel and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. Demonstrates administrative and public relations abilities.
