What It Takes to Be a Successful Club Director

The Club Director is the heartbeat of the Club. Success in this role requires more than management; it takes vision, leadership, and a genuine passion for youth development. A successful Club Director is: A Strong Leader – able to inspire, supervise, and coach staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality programs. A Strategic Thinker – skilled at planning, implementing, and evaluating programs to meet the needs of youth and the community. A Community Builder – able to develop and sustain strong partnerships with schools, parents, and community leaders. An Advocate for Youth – representing the Club in the community and championing resources, funding, and support for programs. An Operations Manager – organized and detail-oriented in overseeing budgets, facilities, safety, and compliance. A Relationship Builder – fostering engagement with families and stakeholders to increase participation and strengthen impact. A Growth Mindset Leader – committed to coaching, professional development, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous learning. Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily Club operations, ensuring safe and effective program delivery. Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers, providing professional development opportunities. Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance with grant/funding requirements. Build strong partnerships with schools, parents, and community organizations. Manage Club finances, facilities, and resources. Lead efforts to grow membership, participation, and family engagement. Represent the organization at community events, school meetings, and partner functions. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in nonprofit management, including staff supervision (1 year at Club Director level preferred). Demonstrated success in program development, staff leadership, and community partnerships. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. Passion for youth development and experience working directly with children. Benefits
