The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for the execution of Wagner Equipment Co.’s and Wagner Rents equipment ordering, demand planning, and new inventory management strategies (machines and attachments) in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as One Professional Team. This position must be able to provide a clear demand signal that is based on maximizing inventory turns, rental washout, inventory spend, and order accuracy while minimizing exposure to aged assets. This position will also be responsible for managing a respective portion of the Sales & Operations Planning process to ensure that the ordering of machines and attachments will happen in a timely manner that meets the needs of stakeholders while minimizing the time spent in inventory. Constant communication and execution of the defined processes are essential.

Pay Rate:

$70,212.99 - $96,548.42 Annually. Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.

Essential Functions

Manages the ordering and demand process for New, Cat Rental Store (CRS), and Heavy Rents

Manages and maintains the dealer demand velocity solution (DDVS) process to include for the defined ordering responsibility, to include Base Order Management (BOM) and Order Range Supply Works in conjunction with the Sales Management team, CRS, Heavy Rents, define day-to-day ordering needs and executes those needs through the purchase order process

Produces monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of both unit count projections and cash flow projections based on incoming and outgoing inventory units and signals from the business thus providing executive leaders and stakeholders a clear line of sight to overall inventory spend

Creates processes and executes all purchase orders for their defined ordering responsibility

Manages new machine & attachment inventory for aging purposes and uses all means necessary to ensure turns objectives are met and WECO and Rents maximizes overall inventory spend

Identifies machines within the new inventory that fall outside of aged machine targets and works with the used equipment manager to define an exit strategy for the given machine

Communicates aged machine inventory initiatives to the sales team as needed

Maintains and manages the product creation process to include creating and managing products, standard configurations, and models

Works with sales, Wagner Rents, & Heavy Rents to identify standard configurations that are designed to give WECO and Rents flexibility across all fleets to drive key metrics (turns, utilization, washout, etc.)

Creates equipment movement records, reservations, and fleet transfer for fixed assets as needed

Assists Sales Department in location of machines through dealer network

Works with the Sales and Rental Ops Manager, and VP of Sales to determine when the projected inventory spend is expected to exceed defined thresholds and develops a plan to address as necessary

Works within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization

Understands the process spec’ing equipment for the multi applications in the territory we serve

Other duties as assigned by manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct reports may include: Equipment Inventory Manager, Sales and Rental Analysts

Strong ability to lead and assist the equipment inventory control for processes, ordering and locating equipment

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED

College Degree Required

3+ years administrative/clerical experience

5+ years customer service experience

3+ years sales experience

3+ years supervisory experience

3+ years technical or mechanical experience

Physical Demands & Competencies

Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing

Squatting/Kneeling

Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.

Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or more

Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills

Safety & Product Knowledge

Good working knowledge of ProductLink, VisionLInk, DBS, and MDS

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Work Environment
