Associate Director Pharmacy Informatics

Job Summary: Responsible for delivering solutions to pharmacy and clinical operations that support the delivery of patient care, specifically related to pharmacy aspects of the care delivery. The pharmacy informatician translates pharmacy operation’s needs to information technology solutions through all phases of the technology and software development lifecycle including analysis, build, testing, training, and support. The informaticist provides clinical pharmacist insight and guidance into the system design. Responsibilities
Demonstrates a strong understanding of assigned and related application(s); proficiency in navigating the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Demonstrates critical thinking and analysis skills to identify and evaluate holistic solutions. Remains current with clinical pharmacy work processes and changes to align IT systems with those processes. Understand the legal and operational needs surrounding pharmacy practice and develop processes to address those needs. Facilitate and actively contribute in meetings by being an engaged listener and offering feedback and input. Communicate effectively with peers, informaticians, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership; provide regular updates and appropriate issue escalation. Complete system build and documentation in accordance with department guidelines and change management policy. Produce documentation including current and future state workflows, pros/cons, gap analysis, needs assessments, design specifications, build documentation, test plans, project plans, status reports and transitionary documentation. Adhere to best practices regarding information security. Provide remote and/or on-site support as needed to end-users. Participate in system testing including scenario-based, integrated, and parallel testing. Provide feedback on training materials. Participate in on-call rotation as required. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Travel may be required. The statements are representative of typical elements considered necessary to perform the job.
