AdventHealth . GENERAL SUMMARY: The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Consumer Operations is accountable for all strategy and daily execution associated with their area. The indirect areas of oversight include, but are not limited to, Patient Access including Pre-Access and Registration and Digital Consumer Engagement tools. The VP of Revenue Cycle Consumer Operations is a key member of the Revenue Cycle team and is looked at to provide key insights as organizational strategies are reviewed and developed to further drive the engage the consumer strategic imperative. The executive is expected to create new initiatives that can shape the future of Revenue Cycle consumer engagement operational practices nationwide, establish a culture of high accountability and performance on all key metrics, manage relationships with external business partners, and communicate effectively within a matrix management environment. Responsibilities and expectations include leading digital consumer engagement, pre-access and registration functions, and driving improvements across the organization through analytics, process design, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities Establishes and maintains professional interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, guests, medical staff, the public, co-workers, external business associates, and insurance company representatives.
Provides direction for consumer engagement and pre-access and registration functions, ensuring the department operates effectively and supports strategic imperatives around consumer engagement.
Formulates reporting and analytics strategies; collaborates with stakeholders to determine priorities for developing additional consumer engagement opportunities and analytics around pre-service patient access and time-of-service registration.
Monitors, analyzes, and assesses consumer engagement opportunities and coordinates activities to automate patient access and registration improvements.
Participates in digital health and revenue cycle task forces and committees; develops and gains support for new methods, procedures, and process improvements.
Represents AdventHealth in interdependencies with internal and external stakeholders and promotes AH interests.
Empowers leadership to develop methods of process improvement, including planning, prioritization, performance assessments, and sustaining improvements.
Translates AH and revenue cycle vision into actionable results; provides direction for complex business decisions aligned with strategic, operational, and financial goals.
Serves as primary contact to Senior Vice President, Revenue Management for implementing key Patient Access tools and for enhancements of core consumer pre-access and patient registration processes.
Collaborates with AH stakeholders to implement system-wide initiatives across people, process, technology, and strategy to optimize denial and follow-up processes and promote standardization.
Demonstrates commitment to quality, customer-centeredness, productivity, and continuous improvement; maintains understanding of healthcare delivery elements including strategy, planning, and contracts.
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Required : Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills; expert in Revenue Cycle processes and integration points; effective oral and written communication; proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to work in a matrix-management environment; proven leadership in cultivating high-performing teams and building relations with physicians and staff; ability to use data to inform improvement strategies. Knowledge and Skills Preferred : Prior ambulatory or institutional revenue cycle management experience; experience with Cerner; knowledge of revenue cycle and healthcare financial performance metrics; vendor and contract management experience. Education and Experience Required : BS in Business Administration (or equivalent); minimum 3 years in Patient Access/Patient Financial Services or related area. Education and Experience Preferred : minimum 5 years of related team leadership experience; BS in Finance, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration; Master’s in Business, Finance, or Healthcare Management; minimum 7 years in Patient Access/Patient Financial Services or related area. Licensure, Certification or Registration
(preferred): CRCR HFMA; Certified Revenue Cycle Executive - AAHAM; ACHE.
