Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions The Children’s Director will be bi-vocational and will be responsible for building, maintaining, and coordinating a complete children’s ministry. He/she will encourage the spiritual growth of the children of the church from Pre-K through 6th Grade and will attempt to reach the unchurched in our community. Purpose The Children’s Director will be responsible for building, maintaining, and coordinating a complete children’s ministry. Be available to students through maintaining regular office hours and by special appointment. Supervision The Children’s Ministry Director will be under the direct supervision of the Pastor. In the absence of the Pastor, he/she will be under the direct supervision of the Chairman of the Personnel Team and Children’s Ministry Team. Qualifications

The prospective Children’s Ministry Director will have to pass a personal background check. He/she must be willing to become a member of RBC. He/she must have a personal, abiding, deep and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He/she must have a love for children and their families. He/she must be willing and able to work well with others. Previous experience working with children preferred but not necessary. He/she must be comfortable counseling and praying with children and others regarding their spiritual needs. Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and coordinate weekly children’s worship event for 4-year-olds through 6th Grade during Sunday morning worship. Work closely with the VBS Director and assist them as necessary with the planning, preparation, and implementation of VBS. Plan/organize a monthly children’s event that fosters fellowship among the children and their families. Prepare a monthly periodical/newsletter that keeps parents informed of upcoming children’s events. Submits all information in a timely manner for inclusion in the RBC church newsletter and weekly bulletins. Attend Leadership Team meetings and coordinate all calendar activities for the children with the Team. Conduct monthly meetings with the Children’s Team to plan, cast vision, and get feedback about the children’s ministry. Prepare and manage a yearly budget for the children’s ministry. Organize and maintain a place for all children’s ministry workers to access teaching supplies (i.e. pens, pencils, paper, etc.). Ensure that the children have a safe environment both physically and spiritually. Approve all children’s ministry programs, curricula, activities, and disbursement of funds keeping within the planned budget. Plan and/or provide a children’s program that coincides with church-wide special events (i.e. Revivals, Fellowships, etc.). Remain active and attend all church services including special events. Be engaged in at least one outreach time per month. Maintain up to fifteen hours per week. Financial Compensation Bi-vocational: To be determined by personnel team Vacation One week paid vacation per year eligible for first week after six months or at the discretion of the pastor. Beginning year two, two weeks paid vacation per year. Personal One half day will be earned per month for personal leave (6 days per year). No accumulation of days to be paid in cash and no more than 12 days accumulation of sick leave. #J-18808-Ljbffr
