Position Summary The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Mathematics with a specialty in Online Learning. For more information about the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, please visit: https://www.msudenver.edu/math/ Responsibilities This position will serve as the Online Learning Liaison, for a reduced teaching load, for both the department and other STEM majors. The successful candidate will have significant experience in online teaching, pedagogy development, and assessment, and will be expected to contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of online courses, particularly fully online offerings.

Participate within the department’s Mathematics Education group. Advise students Participate in course and program development and coordination Continued scholarly and professional activities Perform university and community service Complete other duties as assigned by the chair Teach in evenings and online Ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population. A full teaching load is 24 hours of undergraduate and graduate mathematics and mathematical methods courses per year, including courses for students seeking teacher licensure and in the mathematics major. Required Qualifications

Doctorate in Mathematics Education, Mathematics, or another appropriate field completed before the start date, with at least 18 hours of graduate-level mathematics courses. Extensive experience with online teaching, learning, pedagogy development, and assessment Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of potential for continued scholarly pursuits and activity in the mathematics community Special consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge of and experience with current trends in K-12 and University-level Mathematics Education Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the K-12 level Expertise with the mathematical needs of future elementary teachers, especially those who wish to declare an elementary mathematics concentration; expertise with the mathematical needs of future secondary teachers Familiarity with equity and diversity in Mathematics Education Experience working on and/or obtaining grant funding Proficiency in distance education delivery Interest in working within our STEM collaborations Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urban student population Salary for Announcement The salary ranges for this faculty position are $65,400 - $75,400 at Assistant Professor rank and $73,100 - $83,100 at Associate Professor rank.
