Metropolitan State University of Denver . The Department of Finance at MSU Denver invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2026. This is a nine-month, full-time tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper division classes in finance and engage in professional development activities evidenced by production of intellectual contributions shared with the wider academic and professional communities. The candidate will also engage in service activities benefiting the department, college, and/or university. In particular, the successful candidate will be expected to hold a Ph.D. in Finance (as evidenced by graduate transcripts) and to conduct research in the field of Finance. MSU Denver offers a mentoring program for tenure-track faculty, including enrollment in the Roadrunner Faculty Academy during the first year. Responsibilities

Teach courses in finance according to university policies using a variety of instructional modes and offerings that fit department needs. Maintain consistently high teaching performance, as evidenced by student ratings of instruction, a key factor in reappointment. Engage in activities that enhance knowledge and skills, contribute to the wider academic community, and cultivate new concepts and material for classroom delivery. Required Qualifications

A research-based Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution at the start of employment in August 2026; or ABD candidates will be considered with evidence of degree completion by start of contract. Candidates must meet the criteria described in the College of Business Faculty Qualifications policy for SA status at the time of hire (details in the Faculty Qualifications Policy). Preferred Qualifications

Proven ability to teach upper-division finance courses, with at least two years of documented high-level university teaching. Professional certifications (CFP preferred). Recent industry experience in personal financial planning, wealth management, or investment. Established record of scholarly contributions or potential to produce intellectual work for the academic community. Experience in online teaching using Canvas or similar LMS. We encourage applicants who do not meet every preferred qualification; the best fit for the Department and University will be selected. Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this faculty position is $116,000 - $126,000 at the Assistant Professor rank. Benefits include medical, dental, retirement, tuition benefit, free RTD pass, and more. Instructions to Apply
