Overview
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Emergency Department in collaboration with physician leadership. The Nurse Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership for the Emergency Department and assists the Senior Director of Nursing with supervising nursing staff. The position requires the Nurse Manager to participate in the strategic planning for the department, and ensures all operational areas are clean, safe, and compliant with all clinical regulatory guidelines. The Emergency Department Nurse Manager has accountability for nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Base pay range
$144,444.00/yr - $188,888.00/yr Responsibilities
Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department. Collaborate with physician leadership and the Senior Director of Nursing on staffing and supervision of nursing staff. Participate in strategic planning for the department. Ensure all operational areas are clean, safe, and compliant with clinical regulatory guidelines. Maintain 24/7 accountability for nursing services in the Emergency Department. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing - REQUIRED Master’s preferred Three (3) to five (5) years Emergency Nursing experience Three (3) to five (5) years progressive leadership experience Current New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Certification Highly Preferred Knowledge of guidelines of the regulatory bodies - The Joint Commission, Department of Health and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Ability to make safe judgement calls Strong communication skills for in-servicing staff Excellent customer service skills, responsible for meeting deadlines, punctual Effective written and verbal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities Basic computer skills Keeps commitments and provides notice when unable to do so Seniority level
