Position Summary: As a member of the Patient Care Centered Team, provides clerical, communication, reception, supply management and other supportive services for the Patient Care Center to ensure high quality services to patients, family members and other hospital staff. The Information Associate will be available to meet the needs of all Patient Care Centers as needed. Employment Type:

Maintain patients\' medical records: accurately identify all patient forms and correctly organize medical records; organize chart when patient is transferred to another unit; update chart forms daily in medical record; review medical record each shift for consults; copy medical record as needed; delete medical records of long-term patients as needed; scan all Patient Advance Directives to EPIC Prepare medical records at discharge Collate discharged patient records for Medical Records and Care Center Assemble medical records of discharged patients according to the standard format in the most accurate and efficient manner Attach loose reports to the proper record Complete specific tasks for the Patient Care Unit as assigned by the Nurse Manager, Supervisor, or Sr. IA Receptionist: Act as a receptionist for the unit; answer, screen and route telephone calls correctly; assist patients, families and the public; answer nurse/patient intercom system and relay information to the responsible person; contact patients family or doctor as directed; ascertain identity of all persons; fax medical information to physicians and Insurance carriers as requested General Secretarial: maintain adequate level of supplies; obtain and return equipment to proper department; ensure neat and orderly environment with the unit by maintaining bulletin boards with current notices; file daily assignment sheet by shift; receive, open and appropriately distribute center mail and materials faxed to center; order unit supplies through PeopleSoft Other Responsibilities: support of unit functions; ensure patient names are written on daily assignment sheets; maintain bulletin boards; report maintenance issues through Facilities Maintenance Work Order System Check all computer equipment to ensure proper operation; maintain nursing stations with no food or beverages; serve as preceptor for new IA\’s as assigned by Sr. IA or Operations Manager; perform unit-specific responsibilities as assigned; process Clinical Engineering Work Orders; perform daily check of unit Voalte Phones Requirements

High School Diploma required, AAS preferred Minimum of two years\' work experience in a health-related area Exceptional interpersonal skills Good organizational and time management skills Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of various health insurances Please be aware for the safety and security of our colleagues and patients. $16.20 - $20.75 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. Our Commitment
