Product Manager - Reagents
is responsible for the development, success, and growth of the reagents business within Leica Microsystems. The Product Manager Reagents will lead LMS’s efforts to establish reagent capabilities and solutions that, in conjunction with LMS hardware and software products, will provide Leica customers with full workflow solutions and create a robust recurring revenue stream for LMS globally. This position reports to the
Director of Strategic Initiatives
and is part of the
Life Sciences and Applied business unit
located in
Waltham, MA
and will be an on-site role. In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To Drive the innovation process for reagent products in cooperation with Hardware/Software Product Managers, R&D, Strategic Marketing, and Regional Units based on customer needs, workflow solution approaches, and adapting technical and scientific trends including reference points of market and competitors. Develop product business plans for the reagent product portfolio. Create business plans for development projects that translate product ideas into commercially effective solutions. Establish, in conjunction with sales and marketing, a commercial infrastructure to support the reagents business and generate recurring revenue. Scout for partnerships with external companies that fill gaps within the LMS product line. Build relationships and negotiate with external companies that possess the potential to become partners and/or acquisition targets to further LMS’s reagents business. Analyze product portfolio positioning, markets, and global pricing. Obtain voice of customer market feedback to evaluate customer experience. The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in life sciences or engineering required. Minimum of 5 years of market experience, including time performing scientific research in a relevant field Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, business development and/or sales and service role in a relevant high-tech industry preferred Experience identifying, negotiating with, and managing external partners Ability to generate complete business cases, define key performance indicators, and critically analyze numerous metrics in order to make well-founded development and business decisions Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Approximately 20% travel is required It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Development of product portfolio strategic plans Life science microscopy Danaher Business Systems Advanced degree in science or business preferred (e.g. MSc, PhD, MBA) Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
