Chugach Government Solutions, LLC . The SME II (C4I ISP/OSP) provides day-to-day installation support for structured wiring and telecommunication system installations, is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing infrastructure wiring and related communications equipment, and leads on-site efforts for network cable plants, including copper, category cable, and fiber optic cabling. Work Model: Onsite/In-Office Responsibilities
Working knowledge of OSP/ISP voice and network cabling, equipment, and infrastructure. Ability to use tools and test equipment. Review, analyze, and correct deficiencies in technical drawings and system diagrams to provide red lines and as-built drawings. Provide technical solutions and recommendations to resolve installation discrepancies. Strong coordination, organization, teamwork, and communication abilities. Work well individually or in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints. Work in tight, cramped spaces such as equipment racks (IT) rooms and closets. Work on ladders and/or move up and down steep staircases as required. Develop material requirements and equipment requirements. Coordinate with drafters to develop and complete project drawing packages. Terminate, splice, test, maintain, and repair fiber optic (including fusion splicing), copper, and coaxial cabling. Proven knowledge of aspects of infrastructure and network cabling, following best practices for infrastructure cabling and wiring within varied environments. Experience reading installation drawings and technical manuals. RF, multi-pin and fiber optic cable and connector building expertise. Proven knowledge of wired/wireless equipment installation and basic testing methods and procedures. Job Requirements
Mandatory: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of inside plant operation and maintenance experience, installation, testing, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test. Preferred: Knowledge of DOD data centers. Specific knowledge of operating principles of wired, wireless, and RF environments. Electronic Technicians Association (ETA) Certified Fiber Optic Installer. ETA Certified Fiber Optic Designer. Knowledge of C4I systems. Current Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certifications. Working Knowledge of SPAWAR SIPH (Shore Installation Process Handbook). Working Conditions
