Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a

Gatekeeper Principal Systems Engineer

to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT or Colorado Springs, CO. This role supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for ICBM Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and related infrastructure.

What You Will Get To Do

Support the implementation of Gatekeeper as a Sentinel program-wide test data handling solution with duties including the following:

Develop and implement a program-wide test data handling process

Interface with program test teams to verify the collection and delivery of test data

Process test data to include metadata collection, verification, and data quality checks

Assess system performance, perform requirements analysis, verification and validation, design, development, and integration

Create technical reports and present metric reports

Interface with internal and external customers

Develop system architecture and requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years with a Master’s degree, or 1 year with a PhD

U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and adjudicated within the past 6 years

Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period

1 year of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience and understanding of the Systems Engineering V

6 months of experience with functional requirement development, requirements analysis, functional analysis, trades, and architecture definition

2 years of Systems Engineering experience or experience with procedure and process development

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar

Prior experience with ICBM test methodologies

Advanced use of Microsoft Office products and development tools

Knowledge of data gathering, cleansing, and transformation techniques

Ability to work with cross-functional teams and customers

Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira

Experience soliciting input from internal and external stakeholders, synthesizing data, and communicating complex results to technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels

The position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees to work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off.
