Cloud FinOps Manager
supporting the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Cloud Products Tools (CPT) Program. GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Leads and manages a cross-functional FinOps team focused on optimizing cloud financial operations and engineering efficiencies supervising 2 teams of roughly 10 employees Oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of a Cloud FinOps Analyst team and a FinOps Engineering team to drive cloud cost optimization, forecasting accuracy, and financial governance Designs, develops, and deploys FinOps processes, frameworks, and tooling to enable real-time visibility and accountability across cloud spend and resource utilization Collaborate with cloud engineering, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders to define and implement scalable cloud cost optimization roadmap, processes and reporting Provides expert-level insights on cloud usage analytics, cost drivers, budgeting strategies, and financial KPIs aligned with organizational goals Overseas the automation solutions for cloud billing data ingestion, normalization, and enrichment across multi-cloud environments Maintains expertise in public cloud provider pricing models (AWS, Azure, GCP) and FinOps maturity best practices Establishes policies and controls to ensure compliance with internal cost allocation models and industry frameworks such as the FinOps Foundation’s standards Provides guidance and leadership to cloud analysts and FinOps engineers on tools, tagging strategies, anomaly detection, commitment management, and reserved instance/savings plan strategies Serve as an executive-facing point of contact for all cloud financial operations, reporting, and strategy alignment Recognized as a subject matter expert in cloud financial operations and engineering enablement WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education:
Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field Required Experience:
5+ years of related experience that includes cloud financial operations and supervisory experience Required Technical Skills:
FinOps Certification; Experience leading teams in FinOps Security Clearance Level:
No clearance required Required Skills and Abilities:
Leadership, Communication and Financial mindset; Good customer service and communication skills, to include presenting to all levels of leadership; Must have good problem solving skills Preferred Skills:
DMV residents preferred; Deep understanding of FinOps principles Location:
Remote working 100% - Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm eastern time. All resources on the program must support occasional incident/issue during non-core business hours. Travel:
Must be willing to travel occasionally to the MD/VA/DC area, on an as needed basis. Residency Requirement:
Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior to submitting an application for a Federal ID Card. Salary Range:
