Software Tester
to join our team in
Ashburn, Virginia . This is a hybrid position. The mission is to provide operational support and modernization to the technology and applications supporting the processing of travelers at U.S. ports of entry. This program leverages agile methodologies to deliver secure, efficient, and user-friendly systems for CBP officers and the traveling public. Responsibilities
Run test scenarios for software usability and prepare reports on the software’s effectiveness and defects for the Development Team. Identify and log issues that occur during an application’s run time and provide regular updates on the issues found, including their causes and possible resolutions. Document the steps to reproduce defects, associated test data, and other relevant information. Conduct regression testing to ensure there are no additional bugs or issues caused by fixes, and perform thorough testing to ensure the application works as intended. Examine logs to identify issues and analyze to determine underlying causes. Design, run, and report results of testing scenarios. Takes direction from senior personnel. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent via experience: High School + 6 years, or Associate’s Degree + 4 years). Experience with one or more of the following tools or frameworks: JUnit, PostMan, Selenium, Jasmine, Playwright, Cypress, JMeter, k6, Locust, Grafana, SOAP UI, Mockito, Cucumber, JaCoCo. Experience with documentation and reporting – provides detailed test reports, metrics, and quality assessments to stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress). AWS Certified. Experience with Unix/Linux. Experience writing test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, or TestNG to automate repetitive tests. Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support – assists business users in validating system functionality against business needs. Experience with documentation and reporting – provides detailed test reports, metrics, and quality assessments to stakeholders. Clearance Requirements
CBP BI Preferred. Must have an Active Public Trust Clearance or be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. Must be a US Citizen. Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasional movement in the office may be required to access information and communicate with colleagues and customers. Job Details
