Position/Description: What You\'ll Do and Who You\'ll Work With: Reporting directly to the Director of Electrical Engineering, the Principal Engineer will be responsible for Electrical engineering design aspects of capital projects and facility upgrades Electrical design support for planned outages and design requirements related to equipment troubleshooting Business development/expansion projects at various operating facilities Leading, managing and executing multiple electrical projects/programs in the network Providing subject matter expertise and leading cross functional teams while driving technical standardization as a guardian of certain Electrical Design Standards for Reworld Mentoring more junior team members and sharing best practices and technical expertise Acting as a primary Electrical Engineering SME to the business Location/Travel: Preferred location: Morristown, NJ Headquarters Close collaboration with corporate functions and facilities; ~20% travel across the network Potential travel to domestic locations and Low-Cost-Countries (LCC) such as China Remote work option with some additional travel to Morristown and across the network Compensation varies by location Key Responsibilities
Independently develop/review/approve electrical system design documents including One Line/Three Line Diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, arc flash, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, coordination studies Develop scope of work for electrical AE firms; coordinate with suppliers and contractors Plan design tasks to achieve design and construction within budget and schedule May assume duties of technical lead and SME for small to medium capital programs Electrical design scope includes system design, scope development, engineering calculations, specifications, and risk assessments for HV/MV systems (switchgears, transformers, MCCs, relay/protection systems) Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and criteria Guardianship of key electrical design standards/specifications as SME for Reworld Electrical Team Update design standards and specifications to keep up with industry practices and regulatory developments Provide SME design support to Project Managers on assigned construction projects Provide engineering support for commissioning and installations for assigned design projects Provide electrical engineering design troubleshooting support to plant operations Analyze electrical failure root causes and develop cost-effective technical solutions for RCAs Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 10 years engineering experience Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure is preferred Experience with High, Medium & Low Voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation in large utility power plants or large industrial co-generation facilities Proficiency in developing and understanding One Line/Three Line Diagrams, DC control schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants and electrical aspects of process plants including motors, MCCs, PDCs and other electrical equipment Experience with all project phases including preliminary conceptual design, scoping, detailed design, equipment testing and start-up problem resolution (HV to LV) Experience with protective relaying schemes (Medium Voltage) including coordination and relay settings; SEL relays experience is highly preferred Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, SEL Acselerator Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze data, write technical reports, and develop work packages All Reworld positions require a candidate\'s ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld\'s values, including contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.
