Position Supply Chain Specialist II, Logistics
Location and Schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week
Evenings Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Monday - Friday; works every holiday)
Location: Prentice; FL 07
Role Summary The Supply Chain Specialist II, Logistics reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Supply Chain Specialist II, Logistics performs daily activities across inventory ordering and replenishment, receiving, equipment, linen, and mail. Acts as a functional expert in key areas, processes, and tasks, and provides advice and assistance within the department. Works to meet and exceed established KPI’s. Participates in the design and development of standard work and processes. Provides input on inventory level analysis, consigned product analysis, cost containment, and process improvement initiatives. Assists with communication within the department related to policies, procedures, MDI and standard work methodologies. Works with clinical staff on communication around product changes. Assists internal customers regarding supply chain logistics issues and communicates findings and resolutions to Supply Chain Leadership.
Responsibilities
Follows standard work and methodologies around inventory, receiving, equipment, linen and mail.
Utilizes standard processes within WaveMark and PeopleSoft to maintain data integrity.
Uses problem-solving skills to resolve complex or critical situations involving technology, customers, staff, and other supply chain personnel; consults with SC Leadership for guidance as needed.
Monitors daily activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Manages special projects as required.
Works with SC Leadership to develop and document standard work methodologies.
Ensures support of MDI and daily huddles.
Orders and delivers supplies and/or linen to user areas based on par level. Identifies stock shortages and notifies management.
Conducts routine audits of supplies, linen, and equipment to ensure inventory accuracy, compliance with par levels, and proper usage.
Identifies and documents discrepancies, expirations, shortages, or overstock; communicates findings to management and supports corrective actions.
Answers incoming calls from users identifying supply needs.
Represents the Supply Chain Department and participates in special meetings as directed.
Maintains work area to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Promotes safety in the workplace, following proper lifting and pushing/pulling techniques and utilizing equipment correctly.
Notifies supervisor of equipment needing repairs. Reports safety hazards to manager.
Communicates any issues to supervisor, including inability to complete schedule; proactively addresses observed deficiencies (reports issues/work requests to supervisor/manager, picks up debris outside regular work area).
Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with hospital personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
Uses organizational and department resources efficiently.
Manages work schedule efficiently, completing tasks on time.
Contributes to opportunities and processes for continuous improvement.
Participates in efforts to reduce costs, streamline processes, and improve services.
Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers; addresses questions promptly or directs to appropriate resources.
Provides directions or help to patients and customers with finding their way.
Uses service recovery skills to resolve problems or service breakdowns when they occur.
Demonstrates teamwork by helping co-workers within and across departments.
Communicates effectively, respects diverse opinions, and acknowledges contributions of others.
Trains new employees on processes and policies.
May act as a resource and point of contact in the absence of the Operations Coordinator or Supply Chain Manager.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; or two years of relevant work experience in lieu of diploma/GED.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Effective communication with patients, visitors and staff.
Computer literate – MMIS software experience.
Ability to work independently and respond quickly under pressure.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to think critically.
Five years’ work experience in a hospital or healthcare environment. Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare processes and supply chain. Lean/Six Sigma experience. Associate degree in related field (preferred).
Physical Demands:
Physical demands include lift/carry 50+ pounds and push/pull 50+ pounds. Extensive walking and 5+ hours walking per day.
