The CADC Program Director is responsible for assessing the needs of adult dual-diagnosed patients and providing psychoeducation on the disease model of treatment. The CADC delivers

individual and group therapies

consistent with the patient’s plan of care. Responsibilities and Duties

Assessment Complete Alcohol and Substance Abuse (Drug) Assessments using the CADC Audit tool. Assess discharge/aftercare needs of detox and dual-diagnosed patients and facilitate linkage to required services. Evaluate each patient’s level of functioning and readiness to return to the community. Therapy Conduct daily substance abuse group meetings. Provide individual counseling for assigned patients. Lead educational groups on the disease model of treatment. Facilitate relapse prevention groups. Complete daily progress notes. Coordinate with local Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous chapters to establish institutional (closed) groups for Outpatient Mental Health Services. Serve as a role model for interpersonal communication and problem-solving. Identify measurable goals, share care plans with patients, families, and staff. Follow policies related to patients in restraints. Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety needs. Observe patients and report significant conditions or reactions to supervisors or physicians. Update care plans to include interventions for alcohol and substance abuse. Perform additional duties as assigned. Quality Improvement & Safety

Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities. Maintain consistent awareness of safety and infection control practices. Document nursing interventions, patient responses, patient/family teaching, and discharge planning. Advocate and support unit, hospital, and nursing activities. Maintain competency in required skills and comply with associated policies. Share knowledge through patient care conferences, in-service education, and nursing committees. Stay current with trends in nursing practices and technology. Maintain personal education records. Qualifications

Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) Minimum 1 year of experience in the substance abuse field Benefits
