Position Overview Aksia LLC is a global specialist advisory and investment management firm providing alternative investment solutions to institutional investors. As of May 31st, 2025 we advise and manage over $137 billion in private credit assets on behalf of large, sophisticated institutional investors. Our private credit platform invests across corporate credit, asset-backed credit, specialty finance and special situations globally. We advise our clients on and manage on their behalf, strategies investing in primary funds, co-investment/direct investments and secondaries. The Managing Director / Director will join the Aksia Private Credit Team which is responsible for sourcing, due diligence, monitoring and portfolio management for our private credit managed assets and certain advisory relationships. We are seeking an experienced credit investment professional to focus on private credit investment opportunities with a focus on further advancing our direct credit and co-investment origination, underwriting and monitoring capabilities and footprint. This person will work closely with the heads of Private Credit on deal execution, portfolio monitoring, broader strategic initiatives and certain client/investor facing activities. The Managing Director / Director is expected to lead all aspects of the investment diligence process, support portfolio management, provide guidance and leadership to more junior resources and to act as a representative of the Private Credit team to external stakeholders and clients. This position will have significant growth opportunities in a fast-growing, collaborative and dynamic team. Responsibilities: Lead the sourcing and evaluation of new private credit investment opportunities with a focus on private credit co-investments/direct investments and secondaries Assist in the oversight and review of primary fund diligence memos and process Manage external GP/sourcing partner relationships to drive additional investment opportunities Manage mid-level and junior resources through the investment due diligence and monitoring process Oversight and evaluation of certain portfolio watchlist credits Support client facing resources to provide market, portfolio and deal updates to Aksia’s clients and investors Contribute to the development and communication of Aksia’s Private Credit investment approach Develop a deep understanding of the firm’s full investment capabilities across various Private Markets strategies (private credit, private equity, infrastructure, etc.) and methods of access (primary fund commitments, co-investments/directs, SMAs/joint ventures, secondaries, etc.) Collaborate with legal, operations, risk, accounting and other internal stakeholders Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant work experience at a private credit or investment firm, a private markets allocator, an investment bank or related leveraged finance experience Strong understanding of credit analysis/documentation, credit restructurings as well as understanding of primary/secondary credit fund due diligence Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to think analytically and critically Strong Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel, Power Point & Word Team player with the ability to effectively manage other professionals Strong work ethic, exhibiting a high degree of initiative, commitment and drive The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
