About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 CRM and a deeply unified platform trusted by businesses of every size. We’re reimagining how customers buy, manage, and grow their Salesforce footprint—through modern, scalable, and AI-enhanced digital experiences. As eCommerce Architect, you will serve as the senior technical leader driving the architecture vision, design, and integration strategy across Salesforce’s digital commerce and self-service ecosystem. You’ll partner closely with the Product Director, eCommerce & Self-Service, and work across engineering, infrastructure, data, and security teams to deliver resilient, extensible, and customer-first commerce capabilities. What You’ll Own
Platform Architecture & Strategy: Define and evolve the technical architecture of Salesforce’s eCommerce and self-service platforms. Champion an API-first, event-driven architecture that enables modular, scalable services across multiple product lines and customer touchpoints. Embed agentic patterns and AI/ML workflows into core services using technologies like Agentforce, Einstein, and Data Cloud. Solution Design & Integration
Design end-to-end solutions for key digital flows—billing, purchasing, renewals, and upgrades—while ensuring alignment across front-end, middleware, and back-end systems. Lead architectural decisions across a wide range of dependencies, including Q2C, pricing engines, identity, payments, and subscription management. Collaborate with engineers and technical leads to decompose complex business requirements into scalable systems and services. Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams to drive delivery and scalability. Engage with stakeholders across PLG, T&P, Product & Pricing Strategy, and Revenue Operations to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business goals. Represent eCommerce architecture in technical steering committees and architecture governance forums. Who You Are
Experienced Systems Architect: 10+ years in software engineering or architecture roles, with significant experience in eCommerce, subscription commerce, or digital platform development. API-First Champion: Proven track record designing scalable, secure, and performant APIs and service-oriented architectures (SOA or microservices). Builder with Vision: Able to translate high-level business and product vision into pragmatic, future-ready architecture. Collaborative Leader: Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and partner across product, engineering, and business teams. Tech-Forward Strategist: Strong understanding of modern commerce technologies including payments, tax, entitlements, usage-based billing, and orchestration platforms. Preferred Experience
Prior experience in a high-scale SaaS or multi-cloud environment. Deep understanding of Salesforce technologies and/or Salesforce ecosystem. Experience with Data Cloud, AI-driven experiences, or agentic architectures. Familiarity with Q2C, PLG, and self-service adoption models. A related technical degree required. Why Join Us
This is your opportunity to architect the next generation of commerce at one of the most innovative software companies in the world. You’ll design foundational services and experiences that will serve millions of customers, enabling them to interact with Salesforce in smarter, more seamless ways. Salesforce is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a policy of non-discrimination with all employees and applicants for employment. What does that mean exactly? It means that at Salesforce, we believe in equality for all. And we believe we can lead the path to equality in part by creating a workplace that’s inclusive, and free from discrimination.
