As eCommerce Architect, you will serve as the senior technical leader driving the architecture vision, design, and integration strategy across Salesforce’s digital commerce and self-service ecosystem. You’ll partner with the Product Director, eCommerce & Self-Service, and work across engineering, infrastructure, data, and security teams to deliver resilient, extensible, and customer-first commerce capabilities. This role shapes the technical foundation of platforms including the Billing Portal, Tableau Store, and OneCheckout global payments, and defines the unified API-first service layer that supports cross-cloud and cross-channel experiences. You’ll help embed Agentforce and Data Cloud capabilities into flows to power intelligent, personalized, and self-directed user journeys.
What You’ll Own
Platform Architecture & Strategy Define and evolve the technical architecture of Salesforce’s eCommerce and self-service platforms.
Champion an API-first, event-driven architecture enabling modular, scalable services across product lines and customer touchpoints.
Embed agentic patterns and AI/ML workflows into core services using technologies like Agentforce, Einstein, and Data Cloud.
Solution Design & Integration Design end-to-end solutions for key digital flows—billing, purchasing, renewals, and upgrades—aligning front-end, middleware, and back-end systems.
Lead architectural decisions across dependencies including Q2C, pricing engines, identity, payments, and subscription management.
Collaborate with engineers and technical leads to decompose complex business requirements into scalable systems and services.
Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Enterprise Architecture to drive delivery and scalability.
Engage with stakeholders across PLG, T&P, Product & Pricing Strategy, and Revenue Operations to align solutions with business goals.
Represent eCommerce architecture in technical steering committees and governance forums.
Who You Are
Experienced Systems Architect: 10+ years in software engineering or architecture roles, with significant eCommerce, subscription commerce, or digital platform experience.
API-First Champion: Proven track record designing scalable, secure, and performant APIs and service-oriented architectures.
Builder with Vision: Ability to translate high-level business and product vision into pragmatic, future-ready architecture.
Collaborative Leader: Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across product, engineering, and business teams.
Tech-Forward Strategist: Strong understanding of modern commerce technologies including payments, tax, entitlements, usage-based billing, and orchestration platforms.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in a high-scale SaaS or multi-cloud environment.
Deep understanding of Salesforce technologies and/or Salesforce ecosystem.
Experience with Data Cloud, AI-driven experiences, or agentic architectures.
Familiarity with Q2C, PLG, and self-service adoption models.
A related technical degree required.

California: base salary range $230,800 – $334,600
