Overview
Job Description – SAP Application Engineer (Developer). Würth Baer Supply Company is seeking an SAP Application Engineer (Developer) to join our team at our headquarters in Vernon Hills, IL. Direct Hire. In person (non-remote/non-hybrid). Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement ABAP solutions for SAP ECC 6.0 with focus on SD, MM, or WM modules; participate in BAPI, ABAP Objects, user exits, dialog programming, SAP Script, Smart Forms, RFCs, Web services, report writing, and XML. Build and support SAP interfaces; work with EDI and IDOC where applicable; integrate SAP with external systems and third-party services. Contribute to the redesign of the eCommerce platform and enhancements to the online customer experience, including understanding business requirements and SAP interfaces and website functionality. Improve warehouse operations (shipping, picking, cycle counting) and support migration and redesign of the existing shipping interface to a third party; participate in deployment to improve productivity and reduce costs. Assist in revising pricing procedures and frequently add new reports for sales, finance, and other business users. Provide on-call support for SAP issues on a rotating schedule; flexibility to work across multiple time zones; on-call from home with company-provided laptop. Serve as a techno-functional consultant; work with business users to gather requirements, implement changes, conduct training, and ensure process compliance; evolve toward owning the module from customization to development. Follow IT Governance and Project Management processes and develop required artifacts; act as a technical architect to develop roadmaps, patch plans, and metrics for managed technologies. Collaborate with a tenured SAP team and stakeholders across the organization to deliver projects successfully. Qualifications
7+ years of current experience in ABAP development. 3+ years of SAP customizing experience with focus on SD, MM, or WM; strong understanding of SAP pricing and sales document management. In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0. Proven ABAP development and implementation experience on SAP modules, BAPI, ABAP Objects, user exits, dialog programming, SAPScript, Smart Forms, RFC, Web services, reports, and XML. Good understanding of business processes in Distribution and Wholesale. Strong experience with SAP SD, MM, or WM modules is preferred; experience building and supporting SAP interfaces. Understanding of EDI; IDOC is a plus. Additional skills: Java, HTML, JavaScript are a plus. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Competencies
