The Residential Recovery Specialist position provides direct oversight and support services, both psychological and social, to chronically mentally disabled and/or co-occurring clients who are transitioning from institutional care to an independent living setting in accordance with the treatment plan. The role is full time, Tuesday to Saturday, 4PM to 12AM. Essential Functions

Excellent written and oral communication skills Provide daily oversight to all residents involved in the program Monitor residents administering medications as scheduled Complete a daily schedule in the electronic medical record Complete daily documentation as required by the program Provide feedback for treatment team meetings as required Facilitate monthly activities and groups based on life skills assessments Complete apartment checks to ensure residents are maintaining cleanliness/upkeep of the apartment Assist residents in developing daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, transportation, budgeting, personal hygiene, sex education, and other areas Report all changes in behavior or mental state to appropriate team members (e.g., case manager, program coordinator) Complete active discharge planning with residents as needed with direction from the case manager or designee Use motivational interviewing and other techniques to enhance residents’ recovery success Provide transportation to appointments or scheduled activities Participate and facilitate all safety drills Report maintenance, environmental, or emergency situations to appropriate contacts Navigate and document in residents’ electronic client records Manage caseload daily, including Positive Rewards, activities, mentoring, discharge planning notes, and other ADL skills Provide direct feedback to the case manager or designee to ensure proper treatment and support Ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs Ability to sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, climb stairs, frequent walking, talking, and listening Ability to utilize agency vehicles Complete safety checks as required Complete nightly phone calls to Steady Care as scheduled File all paperwork as scheduled Maintain cleanliness of the office daily (e.g., vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, trash removal) All other duties as assigned Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and climb stairs. The employee frequently must walk, talk, and listen; vision to read correspondence, computer screens, and forms; occasional standing and climbing or balancing. High School diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of one (1) year of behavioral health/human services-related experience required; an Associate’s degree, or higher, in a related field is preferred. Previous experience must include working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis; custodial care will not be counted as experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must be competent user of technology including e-mail, agency intranet, and the electronic client record. Current valid driver’s license required. Candidate must be CPR/First Aid certified or eligible. Sound Community Services, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
