Health, Safety, and Environment Manager (HSE)
Mondelez International is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment Manager (HSE) to lead the planning and execution of all HSE activities in our manufacturing facility. The role includes standards and procedures, capability processes, reporting, compliance, and audit. You will define and review standards and legislation applicable to the site, identify and manage safety risks, validate HSE designs for projects and modifications, and support work processes to improve application and effectiveness. You will map applicable legislation and company standards to design the local HSE program, ensure ongoing compliance, and manage relationships with the legal department and local authorities. You will maintain all HSE regulatory requirements for the plant and be in charge of site security.
How you will contribute
Coordinate implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build annual plans for facility/function-wide HSE initiatives.
Plan, budget, and control annual capital budget for HSE to enable execution of the HSE plan and adherence to internal and external compliance standards.
Provide HSE expertise for the facility/function for all new projects and change management activities.
Ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow-ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents and asset losses that could harm employees, contractors, or visitors.
Ensure appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, succession planning, and development of Safety Specialists.
Ensure facility standards comply with company and governmental/community regulations.
Provide training and coaching to drive an interdependent safety culture and ensure safety standards and awareness are understood throughout the plant.
Build and lead the execution of a safety culture roadmap to progress from reactive to interdependent culture.
Lead the implementation of the IL6S - Integrated Lean 6 Sigma - Safety pillar and support IL6S progression site-wide.
Act as liaison with the corporate Security organization and lead Security strategy for the site.
What you will bring
Experience as a Health, Safety and Environment practitioner, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Experience managing a team, change management, and project management.
Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Substantial experience with Health and Safety audits.
Education / Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or related technical field).
Job specific requirements
Minimum 12 years of experience in HSE in an industrial environment, with at least 5 years leading the function, or a combination of HSE, Manufacturing/Operations leadership.
Demonstrated success in reducing total injury rate and building strong HSE programs, including advancing safety culture from reactive to interdependent.
Ability to build functional and plant teams and create a motivational environment.
Experience managing Safety personnel.
Experience with Health & Safety management software.
Compensation and benefits The base salary range for this position is $117,400 to $161,425; exact salary depends on experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a bonus program based on performance and company results. Benefits include health insurance, wellness and family support, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, education programs, paid holidays and vacation. Some benefits have eligibility requirements.
