Overview
Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting IonQ is seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to join a cross-functional team responsible for SEC filings, financial statement disclosures, technical accounting analyses, and special projects. The role supports external quarterly reviews and year-end audits and applies accounting knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills in a dynamic, high-growth environment. Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, and other regulatory reports Prepare and review financial statements and footnote disclosures, including supporting schedules, in compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing documentation and explanations Assist in preparing the monthly controller report and coordinate with subsidiaries and cross-functional teams to obtain and analyze supporting schedules Perform quarterly variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts Research and document technical accounting issues, disclosure requirements, and new accounting pronouncements to ensure proper GAAP application Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for investments, noncontrolling interests, and other technical accounting areas Assist with accounting and reporting processes for business combinations and investments Contribute to internal controls and seek opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and automation Supervise and coach financial reporting staff, provide guidance, review workpapers, and offer constructive feedback Provide backup support for other positions within the department as needed Support the Financial Reporting Team on special projects as needed Qualifications
BS/BA in Accounting 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting and/or public accounting Experience with SEC reporting requirements Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage deadlines and multi-task High competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Location and Travel
Location: Hybrid role based in College Park, MD, in-office 1-3 times per month Travel: Up to 10% Job Details
