Temporary Position with Possibility of Extension and Permanent Placement

This temporary position has an initial term of 6-9 months, with potential extension based on business needs and performance. There is also a possibility to transition into a permanent role at the bank’s discretion, subject to performance and needs.

Job Summary The role supports the Portfolio Credit Risk Review team (60%), Special Assets team (30%), and special projects or other duties (10%). The selected candidate will be a seasoned credit or lending professional familiar with the Bank’s primary lending footprint and able to discern risk with minimal oversight.

Primary responsibility is to perform detailed loan reviews on an annual or more frequent basis to ensure covenant compliance, appropriate risk ratings, and monitoring for credit deterioration. The role collaborates with Lending and Relationship Managers to collect financial data for annual reviews.

Secondary responsibilities involve assisting with a portfolio of problem commercial loans and/or deposit relationships, developing workout plans with the CCO and SVP of Special Assets, and administering/restructuring problem loans with minimal supervision to optimize recovery. Evaluates client relationships to determine retention plans and opportunities to restructure and cross-sell bank products when appropriate.

Essential Job Functions

60%: Understand lending products, lending processes, and the Loan Review function; review lending portfolios and ensure regulatory expectations are met.

Complete detailed analyses for annual/quarterly reviews, test financial covenant compliance, and use analytical methods to identify credit trends.

Assess risk for individual loans and ensure ongoing appropriate risk ratings; monitor CRE market sectors quarterly as assigned.

Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and tax returns using bank software; supplement with external data sources to assess client/industry risk.

Assist in monitoring financial reporting requirements and clearing items on loan exception reports; review and approve Borrowing Base Certificates.

Essential Job Functions (30%)

Participate in ALLL and CECL readiness activities; support the CCO in meeting preparations.

Manage loan workout processes and perform complex ASC 310 analyses for troubled loans; defend analyses with auditors/regulators.

Identify migration trends and advise on transfers to Special Assets; manage troubled assets efficiently with legal coordination.

Coordinate insurance coverages for bank properties; evaluate losses and project exposure; determine risk ratings.

Prepare Classified Asset Reports and impairment calculations; negotiate with professionals to optimize cost/benefit for the Bank.

Maintain updated collection reports and monitor borrower communications; supportcollect recoveries or rehabilitation as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent with 5-8 years of experience.

Ability to multi-task, work with limited supervision, and maintain attention to detail.

Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office; proficient with Imaging system (M-File).

Desired Skills

Understanding of workout procedures, ASC 310, and annual review/renewal analyses.

Advanced financial analysis, workout strategies, and commercial loan documentation knowledge.

Ability to defend risk rating and workout recommendations; effective written and verbal communication.

Physical/Travel Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods; operate a computer.

Ability to travel by air, rail, car, or bus as needed.
