Mid-Level Advanced Tactical Training - AMW
for the Commander, Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC). In this role, you will provide tactical and operational expertise to enhance the readiness and effectiveness of the Surface Force across multiple warfare domains. Occasional travel may be required.

This Role Provides Support Across Various SMWDC Sites, Including
SMWDC Headquarters, San Diego, CA Mine Warfare (MIW) Division, San Diego, CA Sea Combat (SC) Division, San Diego, CA Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Division, Dahlgren, VA Amphibious Warfare (AMW) Division, Little Creek, VA
Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
Operate and oversee the Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) across multiple platforms, ensuring readiness and effectiveness in combat operations Lead the tactical operations and decision-making processes as a Tactical Action Officer (TAO) or Combat Direction Center (CDC) Watch Officer, exercising full authority to employ SSDS systems during real-world missions and training exercises Assist in integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) operations, with preference given to candidates qualified as a Weapon Tactics Instructor (WTI) in IAMD or with an Aviation Officer qualification Conduct qualitative and quantitative assessments of war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity, leveraging data analysis methods to support system performance and operational efficiency evaluations Create and maintain comprehensive reports, presentations, and data sets to support operational and readiness evaluations, using Microsoft Office suite tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Access
Requirements
Security Clearance: Possess current SECRET Security Clearance Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience working with SSDS systems Minimum of 8 years of experience onboard an SSDS-equipped platform Experience in Strike Group, Fleet, Major Training Commands, Systems Testing Commands, or equivalent military organizations planning Qualified and experienced in a watch station with the authority to employ SSDS (e.g., as a Tactical Action Officer (TAO) or Combat Direction Center (CDC) Watch Officer) Tactical Action Officer (TAO) Qualification Letter Skills: Strong experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods for evaluating war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word, for analysis, reporting, and presentations
Preferred Attributes
Experience as a Weapon Tactics Instructor (WTI) (AMW) Strong analytical skills to assess and improve tactical training and operational strategies Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for interfacing with Navy leadership and cross-functional teams
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the tactical deployment and operation of SSDS systems, including leadership roles on naval platforms. This individual will be responsible for overseeing system operations, evaluating war-fighting readiness, and utilizing both qualitative and quantitative assessments to ensure operational success.
