We are seeking an experienced and charismatic engineer for a customer-facing Solutions Engineer role that supports sales through technical expertise, customer engagement, and project management. This role reports to the Pre-Sales Engineering team, which is jointly led by Sales and Operations. Customer Engagement and Sales:
Partner with Account Executives to drive account growth and retention Discover, organize, and execute major projects Join onsite visits with customers when appropriate Identify and address manufacturing challenges (including DFM) Stay informed about customer projects and initiatives to align with Xometry's capabilities Gather customer insights to inform sales strategies Pre-Sales Engineering:
Assist with knowledge gathering and preparing competitive quotes Combine customer, partner, and system knowledge to address needs and shepherd projects Provide project management on complex opportunities Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience with Xometry’s services from a customer perspective; partner experience is a bonus Deep familiarity with aerospace organizations such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, etc. Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, drawings, and GDT Experience in CNC machining; knowledge of composites, plastics, harnesses, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100d, ITAR, NIST standards Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, including remote environments Ability to travel 25-35% to customer and partner sites Preference for Mountain or Pacific time zones Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Xometry is an equal opportunity employer.
