Job Description:

The Binghamton University Department of Anthropology invites applications for an assistant tenure-track faculty member with expertise in the politics and/or economics of media, to begin in August 2026. Geographical area is open, but preference will be given to candidates with ethnographic research experience in the Global South or North America. The successful applicant will have an ongoing ethnographic research program focused on media related to power, inequality, and/or cross-cultural communication, and a record of commitment to teaching excellence. They will teach an ethnographic or digital methods course and will offer additional courses reflecting their interests at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Key Responsibilities:

Teach two classes each semester (four per academic year) Contribute to department and university service by serving on committees as needed Advise undergraduate and graduate students Requirements:
