Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking an Advanced Programs Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our Affordability team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring program success in achieving manufacturing cost and schedule targets. The Systems Engineer will decompose top-level program cost targets, assign targets to the appropriate IPT, work with IPTs to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, and track progress to targets. Strong leadership, communication, and analytic skills are essential for success in this position. The position requires an understanding of life-cycle cost, schedule, risk, and affordability implications of alternatives under consideration. The position requires the ability to develop and oversee tradeoffs of requirements, design, performance, cost, and schedule to address affordability constraints. Basic Qualifications
Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or a PhD and 1 year of related experience. Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience, or a PhD and 4 years of related experience. Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application. Experience with cost-effectiveness, LCC, CAIV, DTC, and/or CRI analyses. Experience with modeling Life Cycle Cost for large/complex systems of systems. Preferred Qualifications
Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application. Advanced degree or certification in Systems Engineering or Master’s in Business. Experience with cost-effectiveness, LCC, CAIV, DTC, and/or CRI analyses. Experience with modeling Life Cycle Cost for large/complex systems of systems. Position Benefits
