(Actual range is higher for certain office locations: Denver, CO; Chicago, IL – 5%; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR – 10%; Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. Responsibilities
Lead the accounting activities and analysis relevant to non-construction entities and businesses, including preparation and posting of relevant journal entries. Assess current processes and implement improvements to leverage automation and minimize manual work. Coordinate communications and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Finance and other teams supporting non-construction entities and businesses. Complete month-end financial close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries with supporting documentation, analytical review of account activity, and research. Identify and pursue opportunities to streamline financial close processes and assist in implementing improvements. Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and supporting documentation for assigned accounts. Develop enhanced reporting/analysis to support reconciliations and related accounting activities. Review monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation for staff accountants. Provide mentorship and training to team members to improve performance and understanding of technical accounting items and processes. Monitor and analyze accounts receivable, and manage projects, project billings, and contracts as needed. Manage and account for Construction in Process (CIP) for the company. Maintain formal procedures, internal controls, and appropriate segregation of duties for key accounting processes. Identify and implement continuous improvements to accounting processes. Ensure accounting processes comply with internal policies and technical accounting requirements. Document and review process flows related to key accounting transactions to articulate impacts on financial processes and accounts. Work with external auditors on interim and year-end audit activities, including preparation of workpapers and supporting analysis. Collaborate with the Director of Accounting Operations and key Finance Business Partners and Stakeholders to shape and enhance the organizational structure of the Accounting Operations team supporting non-construction entities. Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in special projects as identified. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or equivalent field. Minimum of five years accounting experience, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and external audit documentation requests. CPA designation strongly preferred. Mix of public accounting and private industry accounting experience preferred. Demonstrated experience optimizing accounting processes within the manufacturing industry preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Strong computer skills with experience in general ledger software; Oracle Cloud Financials/Projects preferred. Thorough knowledge of technical accounting principles/US GAAP, accounting processes/best practices, and internal controls. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex topics for varied audiences. Professional, business-driven mindset with the ability to interact with all organizational levels and external parties. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to drive innovative solutions and efficient change. Superior organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative, team-based environment. Benefits
