ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER - SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO Pay rate:
$19.57
per hour; benefits eligible.

The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men and women in completing the rehabilitation program. Position Objectives Provide customers with the best selection, exceptional service, and a well-organized store to support spiritual, social, and rehabilitation programs.
Meet store sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
Create a positive and mentoring environment for Beneficiaries (ARC participants) through collaboration with program staff.
Implement positive Work Therapy Assignments (WTA) and keep Beneficiaries on track where improvements are needed.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of retail management/supervisory experience (thrift experience preferred)
Basic understanding of office applications (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)
Valid driver’s license; pass MVR; proof of insurance; access to a vehicle
Must pass background check (including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry)
Effective communication with management, staff, customers, and donors
Physical Requirements Capability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist
Ability to grasp and move objects such as carts, shelves, and merchandise
Lift up to 50 lbs
Repetitive motion tasks as required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist Store Manager in day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, donations, and ARC merchandising standards
In the Store Manager’s absence, oversee operations, personnel, and cash handling; coordinate payroll records and attendance
Assist with hiring, training, and coaching of store staff; develop team performance
Communicate personnel issues and performance results with Store Manager; issue disciplinary actions as needed
Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction; develop strategies to improve service
Support Back Room Processing (BRP) to meet daily goals
Supervise Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place
Protect store currency, inventory, and property; manage deposits and security
Maintain safety and ARC policy compliance; participate in safety meetings
May transfer or be relocated to other stores as needed
Complete tasks as assigned by District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration
Schedule
Stores operate 7 days per week. Schedules are determined by management. Full-time associates may work evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate coverage.
