Overview

The Security Operations Manager I will oversee delivery of physical security services for QTS data center security operations, including oversight of contract guard operations, alarm investigation and incident reporting. The role coordinates with regional security disciplinary specialists on projects, expansions and other security-related efforts. It provides a visual security presence to ensure visitors, clients, and employees have a safe and pleasant experience while delivering excellent customer service and supporting employee/management relations, goodwill and public relations. Responsibilities

Supervise contract frontline security staff and daily security operations to provide a safe experience for all entrants Manage security operations for a data center Coordinate with security vendor management to improve the security team\'s skills through targeted training and documentation of lessons learned Interface with vendors involved in system repairs for current sites and new security for construction Evaluate and drive continuous improvement of contract guard operations using KPIs, improvement plans, training, and security briefings for contractor personnel Ensure adherence to protocols including monitoring cameras, fire alarms, patrolling, incident documentation, dispatch, and daily logs/files Verify security programs meet defined corporate standards Maintain 24/7/365 availability to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests Manage onboarding of new contract security staff for sites under construction Ensure security systems (Access Control, Visitor Management, Service Now, CCTV) are functional Create and issue facility access badges for authorized personnel Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, and discrepancies and provide timely notifications Familiarity with emergency response plans and evacuation procedures, including fire drills Ensure equipment is kept in good working condition through inspections and preventative maintenance Develop relationships with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement as well as Fire and EMS Generate reports and prepare presentations on the status of physical security operations for customers, stakeholders, and senior leaders Support internal and external audits as needed Serve as a customer advocate by identifying security opportunities and delivering innovative solutions that maintain high security standards Perform security officer duties as needed to meet operations and guest service standards Basic Qualifications

5+ years of experience in security patrolling and reporting 3+ years of experience managing security vendors, contractors and customers 3+ years working in operations, physical security or equivalent 2+ years project management experience Bachelor\'s degree or five+ years in operations/physical security or equivalent, or Associate\'s degree or three+ years in the same field Ability to travel up to 10% including travel to other sites for training and support Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of security-related management and leadership experience 2+ years of experience with access control and video surveillance software (e.g., ProWatch & Genetec) 2+ years in facility security, observing gaps in physical barriers, procedures, surveillance equipment, and alarm points 2+ years of driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms 2+ years of influencing others in achieving security excellence goals 2+ years of excellent verbal and written communications 2+ years overseeing security sub-contractors providing guards, electronic security systems, and related services 2+ years overseeing security construction projects 2+ years teaching proper security processes and methods Military background or prior law enforcement experience desired Active security credentials (ASIS or equivalent) Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Office and access control systems software Strong verbal and written communication; excellent customer service Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and crises Physical requirements: ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed May require 24x7x365 on-call responsibilities Total Rewards
