Senior Manager of Asset Protection Operations
PharmaCann Inc is seeking the
Senior Manager of Asset Protection Operations
(SMAPO). The SMAPO will be responsible for protecting the profitability of the company through detection, identification, investigation, and reduction of shrink and compliance exposures across PharmaCann. They will ensure all properties are safe and secure by assisting the Director of Asset Protection with the implementation and administration of policies and programs, including establishing and maintaining operational procedures, training requirements, internal controls, and monitoring/reporting of processes to comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. This role supervises all SOC Supervisors and SOC Associates within the assigned area of responsibility.
Salary : Up to $95,000
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Monitoring & reviewing electronic surveillance (Access Control & CCTV) as well as security alarm systems (Intrusion/Fire).
Assist in coordination of physical security programs (alarms, CCTV, access control).
Develop partnerships & collaborate with 3rd party Contract Security Services, Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement agencies to improve prosecution, restitution opportunities, and protection of company assets and employees.
Assist with development of training for Emergency Preparedness and Response.
Support all functional areas of the business during critical emergencies.
Interview and hire all new SOC personnel within area of responsibility.
Provide onboarding and ongoing training to all SOC team members in area of responsibility.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members to ensure daily tasks, productivity, and goals are met and maintain a consistent security standard.
Assist with facilitating the objectives of the Security team by answering questions and providing tools and resources needed to perform tasks.
Review and approve timecards for hourly team members.
Provide coaching and corrective measures to underperforming team members.
Perform Asset Protection related audits and make recommendations to corporate and field partners, focusing on access control, camera systems and alarm systems.
Stay current with laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to Asset Protection and Security.
Develop and manage projects, including defining scope, resources, and timely/delivered outcomes.
Assist with development of new SOPs and programs for various departments.
Ensure SOC team members maintain secure physical access and manage access to alarms/keys for all PharmaCann locations.
Delegate remote video monitoring of all PharmaCann locations to operators.
Control budgets for Asset Protection Operations and monitor expenses.
Ensure security operators respond to alarms appropriately and communicate situations as received.
Utilize data and incident reporting tools to identify trends, hotspots, and opportunities for further investigation.
Conduct internal investigations and interviews related to inventory/cash variances, theft, fraud, dishonest/unethical behavior, and policy violations affecting sales, compliance, loss, or brand integrity.
Conduct investigative interviews in-person or via telephone, Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms.
Maintain thorough documentation of investigative findings for presentation to HR, Operations Executives, Legal, and/or Law Enforcement.
Assist with exception reporting to identify potential fraud and vulnerabilities in the company’s ecommerce format.
Identify and respond to scam/social engineering attempts; partner with IT to develop protections.
Lead with the development and rollout of a shrink program for the company.
Partner with on-site leadership and HR to identify/resolve rule infractions by PharmaCann employees and partnering vendors.
Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
Embody the culture, values, and goals of PharmaCann and support its purpose and objectives.
Competencies And Qualifications
Minimum 21 years of age.
Pass a comprehensive multi-state background check, including criminal history; obtain/maintain state agent requirements.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Asset Protection/Loss Prevention, with at least 1-2 years of investigations experience preferred.
Experience in using CCTV configurations and vendors is highly desired.
Analytical capabilities with the ability to learn new applications.
Ability and willingness to travel overnight for business purposes.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient knowledge of exception-based reporting and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated safety, security, risk management, and client service capabilities.
Clear, concise, accurate written and verbal communication.
Excellent problem-solving skills and sound decision-making.
High School diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree in criminal justice, risk management, or business preferred.
Wicklander-Zulawski certification preferred.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Prolonged computer use.
Ability to move about a typical retail, office, and manufacturing/warehouse environment.
General office managerial and administrative activities.
Able to observe, communicate, and hear effectively.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Regular and on-time attendance; hours can exceed 40 hours per week and may include weekends, nights, holidays, and open availability.
Occasional travel to other locations as required.
Schedule may include peak hours and overnight or late-night shifts when needed.
