Assistant Professor of Clinical - Pediatrics, Nephrology
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member. Candidates must have an MD/OD, be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology, and licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida. Candidates will be at the professor level of the clinical educator track. We have active programs in dialysis providing all modalities of renal replacement therapy. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is fully integrated with the Miami Transplant Institute, and the Division has an active transplant program including kidney, liver, and multivisceral transplants. In addition to delivering excellent patient care, the faculty member will also be responsible for educating fellows, residents, and medical students. The Department of Pediatrics has a large residency program and the Division of Pediatric Nephrology operates an ACGME-approved Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program with 3 clinical fellows. The physician candidate will have a strong interest in clinical and/or translational research as the position requires development and participation in original research for which extramural funding should be sought. The Division is currently involved in research related to nephrotic syndrome/FSGS, proteinuria, SLE nephritis, hypertension, ologonephropathy of prematurity, obstructive uropathy, HIV nephropathy. The Pediatric Nephrology faculty member will have demonstrated both clinical and scholarly expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently as part of collaborative groups. Fluency in Spanish, Creole, and/or French is desired, but not required. Equal Employment Opportunity:
