Manages WVU Cancer Institute radiation oncology administrative and clinical operations throughout the network. Optimizes clinical and financial performance to generate value for our patients and communities. Develops, implements, and manages essential tactical programming.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
Master of Business Administration or a relevant field required
EXPERIENCE:
Eight (8) years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
Five (5) years’ experience in administration and management with direct supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
Advanced degree in business or healthcare related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Ten (10) years’ administrative experience in tactical operations.
Eight (8) years’ experience in administration and management with direct supervisory experience.

Administrative Leadership
Advises the Vice President and the Chair in establishing priorities, developing goals and completion of mission requirements.
Oversees and manages personnel including hiring, performance evaluation and goals, coaching and counseling, problem resolution, promotion and tenure, authorizations to work, Visas, etc.
Assists Faculty Search Committee as departmental EEOC/Affirmative Action Officer, ensuring compliance with federal regulations regarding recruitment and hiring.
Oversees or administers the Leave System/Benefits for all Faculty.
Manages all aspects of the School of Medicine Faculty Compensation Plan for all Faculty affiliated with the Department to include staff payroll, monitors grants related to funding, incentive plans, productivity and education.
Responds to requests; explores and resolves problems as presented by departmental faculty related to Faculty Compensation, Faculty Appointment Letters, UHA Professional Services Agreements, and Faculty Benefits.
Directs initial and ongoing credentialing and re-appointment with the WVUH Medical Staff Affairs office, and any satellite hospitals as needed to ensure licensing, DEA certification, credentialing and participation in UHA payer contracts are in process.
Clinical Leadership
Oversee Radiation Oncology operations at WVUCI locations, including clinical services, financial management, staffing, equipment, and facilities.
Analyze and identify process improvement opportunities across the radiation oncology network, leading efforts to enhance operational procedures and policies for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with the Chair of Radiation Oncology to support research efforts, expand clinical trials, and improve patient access to innovative treatments.
Enhance operational efficiency by streamlining patient flow, reducing wait times, and optimizing care delivery, including patient registration, check-in, financial counseling, and charge capture accuracy.
Ensure patient-centered care by focusing on improving the overall patient experience and minimizing patient financial liability through efficient administrative processes and financial counseling.
Clinical Support Services
Executes Market and financial assessments of WVUCI radiation oncology network locations.
Supports clinical and programmatic development of clinical sites.
Developments staffing models capable of fully and reliably supporting clinical activities.
Financial reporting, optimization, and analysis.
Informs financial and clinical operations reporting for all WVUCI radiation oncology locations including dashboards, prior authorization, revenue cycle and coding optimization.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Lead initiatives to improve operational procedures, including developing and maintaining audits to ensure accuracy in clinical records, billing, coding, and documentation that support revenue and services performed.
Enhance administrative operational processes across the WVUCI radiation oncology network to improve workflows and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Improve charge capture accuracy by developing and implementing best practices in financial documentation and coding, ensuring revenue alignment with services rendered.
Develop internal audits to enhance accuracy in billing, coding, and clinical records, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Staff Engagement & Collaboration
Promote staff engagement by encouraging collaboration at all levels, fostering an environment of teamwork and shared responsibility across the radiation oncology network.
Effectively communicate with all members of the WVUCI team, ensuring transparency and alignment in goals, expectations, and performance standards.
Increase staff engagement by implementing professional development initiatives and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Planning & Growth
Lead strategic planning efforts for the Department of Radiation Oncology, ensuring alignment with WVUCI’s mission and expansion goals across Appalachia.
Develop a growth strategy that includes adding new locations, recruiting top talent, and integrating advanced radiation technologies to improve care delivery and patient outcomes.
Governance & Collaboration
Implement governance structures that foster clarity in decision-making and consistency in care across all eight locations.
Work with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration between radiation oncology locations, other clinical departments, and external partners, ensuring integrated cancer care delivery.
Financial Management & Resource Utilization
Oversee financial performance by managing the Department’s budget, optimizing resource utilization, and aligning operations with revenue cycle processes.
Monitor financial and operational results to improve efficiency, affordability, and financial outcomes, ensuring all locations adhere to budgetary constraints and revenue expectations.
