Senior Narrative Designer (Writer) (Temporary) – Infinity Ward Base pay range: $80,800.00/yr - $149,400.00/yr. This role is a contract position at Infinity Ward, part of Activision. Job Description
As a Senior Narrative Writer, you will act as a key contributor to the story of our games, supporting the vision driven by the Creative and Narrative Directors. The ideal candidate has experience in TV, film and game writing, outstanding communication skills, a strong understanding of story and game structure, and the ability to work within established narrative canon and gameplay goals. Experience with cinematic writing and in-game dialogue across story and multiplayer modes is highly valued. Bonus points for experience in military or action-adventure games, or entertainment products. Responsibilities
Develop fresh and compelling interactive stories, aligned with the company’s philosophy and vision Champion a story vision that supports project goals through structure, character and theme Develop assets related to narrative/scripted events (gameplay, audio, art), participate in their implementation and debugging; own and master narrative tools and systems Spec and oversee systems to support key story beats within the game experience (narrative, gameplay production, dialogue, scripted events) Understand gameplay elements and assess impacts on story; present collaborative solutions for adjustments when conflicts arise Write for multiple media (in-game copy, cinematic scripts, story bible documentation, pitch documents, short stories, promotional copy) Promote excellence in storytelling through feedback and direction Identify, assess and mitigate project risks Qualifications
8+ years of game development experience 3+ shipped titles with a narrative design or writing credit Bachelor’s degree in a creative or communications field, or equivalent work experience Excellent creative writing abilities Excellent verbal communication skills Strong understanding of game production Passion for storytelling and interactive media Our World
