This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders and helping to stay in compliance with evolving international trade regulations. This role will collaborate with multiple internal and external partners to optimize cost recovery. Responsibilities: Manage initiatives to optimize cost recovery by coordinating with overseas partners and cross-functional teams (e.g., Purchasing, New Product Development) to update import documentation, ensuring accurate material classifications and value reporting for customs purposes. Partner with Trade Compliance to ensure adherence to International Commercial Terms (Incoterms), trade policies, and customer requirements. Audit commercial invoices (CI) and ensuring the accuracy of tooling and development charges, sub-contracted values, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, country of manufacture, and other regulatory data. Prepare and process import/export documentation in compliance with U.S. and international regulations. Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, drayage teams and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of air and container shipments. Maintain accurate records of shipping documents, customs declarations, and compliance files. Support audits and internal reviews by providing necessary documentation and reports. Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding shipping schedules and documentation needs. Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems. Exhibit and adhere to the established Visual Comfort Company Values. Requirements: High School diploma or GED is required. Associate’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. 0-2 years of experience in logistics, import/export, or supply chain operations. Familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms), customs regulations, and trade compliance are required. Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers is preferred. Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, Automated Export System (AES) filings, and country-specific documentation requirements is preferred. Certification in International Trade or Logistics from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), or a similar organization is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) is preferred. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat, and phone.
