This position will lead a team of Manufacturing Technicians and Material Handlers on a single line of highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment to produce our signature product. The role includes training and cross-training incoming Manufacturing Technicians to operate and repair issues across technologies such as heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, PCB handling and testing, and robotic automation. In addition to equipment operation and maintenance, the incumbent will monitor product quality on their line and oversee general machine troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be accountable for the performance of their line and team, requiring strong leadership, communication, mechanical aptitude, technical ability, machine troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a third shift position. Working hours are 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, M-F. This position is eligible for additional shift differential pay. Responsibilities
Manage and coach a team of manufacturing technicians and material handlers focusing on performance, behaviors, product quality, and operational efficiency. Be available for ad-hoc employee relations issues on a 24/7 basis, as needed. Document and report status of operational goals using operational scorecards. Provide timely performance feedback and deliver annual performance appraisals. Maintain timekeeping for all employees including vacation and FMLA. Identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for solutions. Ensure the use of consistent processes and procedures to support efficient operations and enhance product quality. Ensure timely training and onboarding of new employees. Train and mentor fellow technicians on manufacturing processes, equipment, and general mechanical skills. Utilize HMIs to identify and correct shifts in process control. Ensure adequate supply of raw materials and process aids to operate efficiently. Execute equipment inspections and generate emergency, corrective, or preventative work orders as needed. Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues or general operating inefficiencies. Interface with cross-functional departments to drive preventative maintenance schedules, techniques, and training improvements. Utilize computer systems to support material inventory and quality management processes. Execute equipment/process validation protocols under minimal supervision. Write and/or revise production work instructions, preventative maintenance tasks, and equipment documentation. Safely follow standard operating procedures including material handling, record keeping, packaging, and shipment preparation. Follow GMPs. Maintain a clean work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing and cleanroom production. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 2 - 5 years of on-the-job manufacturing experience Proficiency in English to read documentation, communicate, and write Preferred Skills And Competencies
Leadership & Communication - Recognizes strengths, fosters respectful relationships, encourages two-way communication, and clearly communicates expectations while providing feedback when needed. Mechanical Aptitude - Knowledge of automated machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance. Production & Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, measurement instruments, production processes, quality control, and related techniques. Computer Skills - Basic Microsoft Office; ability to create and distribute scorecards and daily production reports. Problem Solving - Identifies problems and performs root cause analysis. Detail Oriented - Strong attention to detail. Autonomy - Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently with minimal supervision. Experience with highly automated discrete component assembly equipment is preferred. Experience with technologies such as laser welding, heat staking, ultrasonic welding, and ESD-sensitive devices is preferred but not required. Experience in a startup production environment is a plus. Experience working with HMIs and familiarity with manufacturing instrumentation (optical gauging, video microscopes, micrometers, calipers, etc.). Physical Requirements
Stand for at least 80% of the shift; walk at least 50% of the shift. Reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally. Push and pull. Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally; 5-20 lbs frequently. Note: This position requires on-site work in office/plant/lab environments. Additional Information
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $73,950.00 - $110,925.00. Salary ranges reflect role, level, and location and are the minimum and maximum target for new hires in the primary work location in the U.S. Individual pay is determined by location, skills, experience, and training.
